Blake Sorensen – Owner & Lead Restoration Technician

Blake founded Wendell Restoration San Jose in 2006 and still runs jobs from the truck, not a desk in another state. He carries IICRC certifications in water damage restoration and applied structural drying, and he has personally pulled saturated drywall out of more Willow Glen remodels than he cares to count. His specialty is psychrometric drying, which is a trade term for tracking the air’s moisture level so he knows when your home is truly dry, not just surface-dry. Blake is the one who decided every Wendell job gets a written price before work starts, because he got tired of an industry where the final invoice never matched the first handshake. When he’s not on a job, he’s usually rebuilding something in his own garage in Campbell.

Manny R. – Senior Water Damage Technician

Manny has spent eleven years in restoration, the last five with Wendell. He is our lead on large water losses and sewage backup jobs, and he holds RIA certification in water loss specialist training. Manny runs the Dri-Eaz and Phoenix drying equipment the way a chef runs a kitchen, which is to say he checks the numbers every single visit and adjusts airflow before the numbers drift out of spec. He also handles most of our Injectidry floor-drying systems on hardwood jobs, because convincing a 1940s oak floor in Naglee Park to cup back into place is equal parts science and patience. Manny grew up in East San Jose and knows which houses on which streets sit on clay soil that swells after a pipe leak.

Jenny T. – Service Coordinator

Jenny is the voice who answers when you call Wendell at 3 p.m. or 3 a.m., and she has talked more than one homeowner off the ledge while their ceiling dripped into a stockpot. She has been with the company since 2018 and coordinates every dispatch, every equipment order, and every insurance document that crosses our desk. Jenny is the reason you get a live arrival time you can track instead of a vague four-hour window, because she is the one on the phone with the techs while they are on 880 or 101 deciding which route gets them to you faster. She also keeps the before-and-after photo updates moving, so you can see the job progress without stepping into a containment zone. Off the clock, she runs a small pottery studio on the east side.

Luis D. – Apprentice Technician

Luis joined Wendell two years ago after working construction in Santa Clara and decided he wanted a trade with a clearer finish line. He is currently working toward his IICRC water restoration technician certification under Blake and Manny, and he spends most of his days running extractions, setting containment, and logging moisture readings on the XPOWER and B-Air equipment. Luis earned his spot on the team after a stretch of apartment complex floods on Winchester Boulevard where he kept three floors of drying equipment running over a holiday weekend without missing a single reading. He is the one who will text you a photo of your drying progress at 7 a.m. so you know what happened overnight. Luis lives in South San Jose, which is convenient when the call comes from Evergreen or Silver Creek at midnight.
